Home Care

Admission to BurchCreek HomeCare can only be made under the direction of your physician, based on your specific care and rehabilitation need, homebound status and the type of services needed that can be provided to you directly or through coordination with other organizations.  Homecare services include, skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and shower assistance.

Medicare will pay 100% for your home health care services if the following requirements are met:

You are Homebound.  This means that due to your illness or injury, it takes a considerable and taxing effort for you to leave your home and that your absences are infrequent or of a relatively short duration.  You can still be homebound if you leave your home to attend day care programs, or to attend unique or infrequent special events.

You have had a recent illness or injury, or an exacerbation of a condition or illness which requires Skilled Nursing Care on an intermittent basis, or Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or have continuing needs for Occupational Therapy.

•You are an eligible Medicare beneficiary and under the care of a doctor who has ordered the treatment or services we are providing.  Medicare will not pay for home care if these services are not reasonable or medically necessary.

•Care is provided on an intermittent basis.  This means Medicare will not pay for our health care staff to stay with you for an extended period of time.  We will only visit you for the length of time it takes to provide the specific treatment ordered by your doctor.

If all these requirements are met, Medicare will also pay for medically necessary Occupational Therapy, Medical Social Services, and Home Health Aides.
